“Lida is a typeface family that does not sacrifice the quality of one writing system for another. Arabic-script type styles and their Latin counterparts are designed to work the best in their own right, and we utilized a rather conceptual approach to create a bridge between the two worlds, not making their features homogenous but offering a harmonious coexistence. I designed Lida in 2015 as part of my MA in typeface design at the University of Reading in the United Kingdom. The typeface family includes four Arabic styles, three Latin and one Avestan.”
