"Part of a series of location images shot for My Calabria, written by Rosetta Costantino; a thorough and gorgeously detailed book about the little explored wine and food of southern Italy. This shot was taken in the old part of the town of Verbicaro. I'm borderline obsessed with urban decay and semi-abandoned towns, and shooting in these small cobblestone-lined streets fed my insatiable urge to explore what once was. After I took this shot, I went inside the vacant apartment on the bottom left and found an empty suitcase, an old pot and some wooden spoons."
