Elisa Cardoso, associate designer
John Neschling, Orquestra Sinfonica do Estado de São Paulo, client

"Every month we had a different idea. For September, I wanted to explore the free expression of the music. The subtle texture of sound and movement(motion). I wanted too, a more strong/graphic approach. I did the brush strokes with a broad brush with india ink, then scanned and made compounds like in this poster, where two or three strokes only were used. The phrase ‘pode aplaudir que a orquestra é sua’ means that you may applaud because it’s your orchestra (Osesp is sponsored by the Governemment of São Paulo). We wanted the image of the sound of clapping hands. I also liked that ‘Japanese’ look."
